Titanium and titanium alloy U profiles
Products Detail
Titanium and titanium alloy U profiles leverage the load-bearing advantages of channel-type structures and the material advantages of titanium to address the pain points of traditional metal channel parts, such as corrosion and weight. They are ideal for support, protection and flow guidance in the aerospace, marine and chemical industries, among others. The applications of different grades are clear:
GR2 pure titanium U profiles (suitable for light-duty scenarios).
Advantages: High ductility, easy to bend, corrosion-resistant to fresh water, seawater and weak alkalis, cost-effective.
Applications:
Marine aquaculture: U profiles with a channel width of 20–40 mm are used as flow guides in cages to circulate seawater. These profiles can resist seawater immersion without rusting for five years, are 43% lighter than stainless steel and reduce the load on aquaculture platforms.
Food workshops: U profiles with a channel width of 15–30 mm are used as edge protection for equipment to prevent corrosion from juices during food processing. The surface is easy to clean and meets FDA hygiene standards.
GR5 titanium alloy U profiles are the main choice for high loads.
Advantages: - Tensile strength of 895 MPa
- Fatigue resistance
- Resistance to high temperatures up to 400°C
- Suitable for high-stress scenarios
Aerospace: U profiles with a channel width of 30–50 mm are used as cabin floor support channels to bear the weight of seats and equipment. The lightweight design reduces airframe fuel consumption while withstanding flight vibrations without deforming.
Heavy machinery: U-profile channels with a width of 25–40 mm are used to protect hydraulic system oil pipes. They wrap around the pipes to avoid external impact and resist hydraulic oil corrosion. They also have a service life three times longer than steel profiles.
GR7 titanium alloy U profiles (specialised for corrosive scenarios).
Advantages: - Contains palladium for resistance to organic acids and dilute sulfuric acid
- Suitable for harsh chemical environments
Chemical workshops: U profiles with a channel width of 20–40 mm are used as flow guides for dilute acid discharged from reaction kettles, directing it to the treatment system. The U profiles resist acid corrosion without leaking, thus preventing acid from penetrating and damaging the ground.
All U profiles can be customised in terms of channel width (10–60 mm) and wall thickness (1–8 mm). The channel edge can be polished as required for direct assembly, saving 30% of processing time.
